Christian Convergence Therapy (CCT) integrates psychology and theology in a way that encourages personal development through sound Christian teachings (e.g., it tells us “what” to do) and psychological techniques in a cognitive and behavioral format (e.g., it tells us “how”) to achieve our spiritual and psychological goals.

BIO:

• David Soper has three decades of experience providing clinical psychological services and therapy for adults and adolescents.
• He has worked in a variety of settings (e.g., community mental health centers, psychiatric consortiums, department of corrections, public schools, state hospitals, residential treatment centers, churches, military clinics, and private practice).
• He has experience providing a full spectrum of psychological services (e.g., individual, couples, groups, psychological testing, etc.) and administrative duties (e.g., supervision of master-level clinicians, clinical director of residential treatment facility, etc.).
• Soper takes a client-centered and collaborative approach, utilizing evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, CPT, EMDR, and more.).
• Soper currently works at Tyndall Air Force Base Mental Health Clinic, as a full-time licensed psychologist, a position he has held for 8+ years, providing services to active-duty military members (primarily Air Force, Navy, USCG).
• He and his wife moved from Indiana and now live in Panama City, Florida. They have three adult daughters who live in Indianapolis, Indiana.

BEGINNING THERAPY:

During your FREE initial consultation, I’ll ask questions to get a basic understanding of your treatment needs and goals. This time is an introduction to determine if outpatient teletherapy is indicated or if another level of care is recommended. It is also a time for you to ask questions to get to know me, my expertise, and the therapy process. From this basic introduction, I hope to create a safe, collaborative partnership with you. If we decide this is a good fit, I will direct you to the intake paperwork needed for us to begin this journey together. We will set measurable treatment goals to monitor progress, assign practical homework to make headway outside of sessions, and adapt the therapy as needed. My goal is to provide practical, interactive, solution-based therapy to help you resolve current problems and long-standing patterns that may interfere with God’s perfect plan for your life.
